Heard at the track:
While watching the Indy car races at the Texas Speedway's Speedway Club, we overheard some of the track officials discussing the
rumored
NASCAR sponsor changes. It seems that there is a very real
possibility that the
tobacco companies will not be able to continue to
sponsor the race teams or the
Winston Cup Race series. But don't worry,
clothing manufacturer, Jockey
International has offered to sponsor the
popular series... renamed the NASCAR
Jockey Cup Championship.
More NASCAR news???:
When asked to prove that auto emissions didn't cause damage to the ozone layer, an auto industry spokesman is rumored to have replied, "If cars caused holes in the ozone, then the holes should be over Talladega or Bristol not the North Pole!". NASCAR officials declined to respond.
